Chris Medlin, originally from Georgia, grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee. Growing up in a small southern town without a lot of artistic outlets, Chris found himself drawn to creating his own spaces. Singing, dancing… and pretending to be a Power Ranger, he was able to find his own footing at a young age. One day after school in the third grade, Chris walked himself from home back to his school to audition for the choir and he’s never lost that tenacity.
Now a New York City based actor, Chris is best known for his breakout performance as Isaac Downey on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias (2020). Of which, he was bumped to a series regular ahead of filming the third season. Previously, Chris made his Broadway debut in the original cast of Tina Fey’s Mean Girls the Musical, followed by appearing in the original Broadway cast of Diana the Musical. Diana was also filmed for Netflix during the COVID-19 pandemic 2021 release. Chris has previously been seen on regional stages across the country in the world premieres of Mean Girls the Musical and The Prom Musical, as well as several other productions. During his time in Los Angeles, he appeared in the film Pass the Light (2015), as well as being the film's choreographer. Chris looks forward to developing roles on both screen and stage that empower the misfits and underdogs, while carving out space for diverse stories and perspectives.
